When you look good you feel good is a fact without a doubt. No matter how people look at you perceive your image, but all the grooming stuff you do is to look good. Everyone wants to portray him or herself as if no one was handsome or smarter ever. Especially people in showbiz and media in general are more conscious about their looks which builds up the self-regard in them is important than life.

Similarly, for teenagers looks are even more important than the person inside. This twisted sense of self-image can backfire and lead to some truly horrible results. More and more teens are suffering from depression. Young girls seeking perfection can become anorexic or bulimic. Some kids even isolate themselves and are extremely uncomfortable in social situations. So when acne strikes, how are teens equipped to deal with the prospect of looking abnormal or ugly? Teenagers can be cruel to each other, and to themselves.

The American Academy of Dermatology has reported that a staggering 95% of American teenagers will suffer acne breakouts at some point during adolescence. Some kids can hide milder cases with makeup or flesh-colored over-the-counter treatments. Some even use their hair or clothing – longer styles, hats, etc. However, sufferers of severe acne must stand exposed, with all their imperfections, for the world to see.

Since acne occurs so frequently in adolescence, blemished skin makes teens fear how their peers view them. Self-esteem and self-worth can be affected when kids are afraid of being judged by their contemporaries. Teens put up with so many anatomical changes that can make them feel dirty. It is particularly vulnerable time when kids worry about being accepted, and about the way, they look. Unfortunately, some parents can trivialize the teens fears.

Attitudes like I went through it?youll go through it and it will go away. However, when that first serious breakout happens?acne typically gets worse before it gets better?the teen may rationally agree that it is probably a passing phase. However, while it is going away, the teenager remains afraid of being judged by his peers, and serious self-esteem issues can result. These unsettling feelings about self-image can sabotage a young person already confused by this gateway to adulthood. This is a time in a teens life when he/she should get out and be involved in peer activities – but fear of being different is strong. Parental support can be vital at a time like this. Even when teens appear to not need your help, playing a gentle supportive role can help a budding adults transition./pbr

While almost everyone is exposed to some kind of acne at some point in his or her life, cystic acne is something that can happen within families. If one of your parents had or has cystic acne, there is a higher percent chance that you will be exposed to some form of it as well.

Cystic acne is a more advanced case of a pimple. Acne is far-flung, and cystic acne is one of the harder varieties encountered. A simple pimple develops, sometimes referred to as a pustule, by taking root deep within the skin it creates a inflamed sore known as a cyst. Cysts can differ in color and size from a dark purple to being small and pink.

On that point are alot of matters that can be served when confronting this trouble. Alternative medicine experts are a good resource for holistic remedies for cystic acne, while other more common procedures can easily be performed in the convenience of one’s home with no medical supervision.

In a hunt for a curative for cystic acne a individual can turn to other resources for a swift closure. A common medication is Isotretinoin and has been found to be effective for severe cystic acne. Accutane is the most well known source of this component, as it bears Isotretinoin.

The human face is what accepts the damage from cystic acne and is usually encountered in the teenage yrs. A characteristic of cystic acne is superficial inflammation deep beneath the skin as compared to ordinary acne. Cystic acne can terminate in abstruse scarring and afflictive breaks in the skin. Many skin doctors find that cystic acne is the wickedest of all.

I was surprised to find out that there are a lot of home remedies that will alleviate acne.

The infection caused by cystic acne is deep below the skin and takes time to heal. It is usually best to use an external product in the beginning to treat cystic acne. There are many unique and effective technologies available for cystic acne.

Before you can address your acne problem, you must determine what type it is. In reference to what is the most dependable acne discourse we research all avenues of sentiment.

Acne is a skin disease that affects more than 17 million individuals in the United States alone. Three out of four teenagers suffer from some form of acne. The possibility of severe psychiatric and psychological complications affects many individuals suffering from acne, while affecting a person’s quality of life in a negative manner. Psychiatric and psychological complications are not a serious problem for many of the individuals suffering from acne, but there are enough individuals with these conditions to be alert to the symptoms. This is not a disease that limits itself to the skin only.

If you are suffering from severe acne, be alert to the following symptoms. Seek medical help if you recognize any of these symptoms in your life.

Depression

Depression caused by acne affects how you feel, think, and act. There are many symptoms of depression with the most common being:

> A change in appetite that results in weight loss

> Sleeping a lot or not sleeping at all

> Tired all of the time

> Irritable

> Having a feeling of worthlessness

> Difficulty concentrating or making decisions

> Thoughts of suicide

You may become depressed when your acne is severe, causing scars and not responding to treatment. You should share with your doctor how your acne has affected you emotionally.

Social Phobia

Acne may cause you to become so excessively self-conscious that you fear being around other people. The symptoms of social phobia are an overwhelming anxiety of fear that others are looking at you and judging you. Embarrassed or humiliated by your looks will interfere with everyday activities. Dreading and worrying about upcoming events in your life will take a toll on your health.

Social Phobia is not something that is easily controlled by you. Please share with your doctor if you have any of these symptoms.

Anxiety Disorders

Severe acne can lead to stress, which in turn leads to anxiety disorders. As with social phobia, anxiety disorders have many of the same symptoms. The important factor to remember is that it is treatable and if not treated can lead to poor performance in school, poor social skills, and you are more vulnerable to substance abuse.

As a teenager, social anxiety disorder resembles severe shyness and may not be recognized as a problem. The symptoms of social anxiety are an intense fear of social interactions, avoiding friends and conversations, looking down while speaking to someone, isolating yourself from others, excessively concerned with what others think about you.

Impaired self-image and self-esteem

Are you constantly putting yourself down? Society today is all about the perfect look. The problem with this view is that no one has the perfect look. As a teenager your body is changing rapidly with many hormonal changes affecting your entire body. Acne is a result of some of those changes. You may not be responding to treatment and have allowed yourself to think less of yourself than you should. There are so many internal and external factors in developing a healthy self-esteem.

You are in control of your self-esteem. There are many good things about yourself and you need to concentrate on those attributes instead of those areas that you are not happy with. You may need to talk with your doctor if you feel that you are unable to develop a healthy self-esteem on your own.

Social Dysfunction

Social dysfunction is the umbrella of all of the above conditions. If you are suffering from severe acne and find yourself retreating from others and suffering from the symptoms of depression, it is important that you consult your doctor immediately. Acne is not always a skin disease; it can turn into a psychiatric and psychological disease. Stop it before your quality of life is affected.

Life with acne is not always an easy life. If you are not careful it may reduce your quality of life. When your acne becomes more than you can handle emotionally, your quality of life deteriorates. Acne controls you when it all you think about.

Gaining control may not be easy for you. Seek help when your emotional life is in turmoil. If you are a teenager, your parents may not understand how you feel and may not sympathize with you. If you are an adult suffering with adult acne, you are at greater risk of suffering from these symptoms.

Your first step toward a better life with acne is getting professional help when you are suffering from any of the symptoms in this article.

Teenage acne is one of the most common skin related disorders there is. Studies show that over 85% of teenagers encounter this skin disorder. The period in which people are affected by acne varies greatly, in certain cases it can last for a few months, a few years, or can last well in to adulthood, making it your enemy number one. Teenage acne can play a very damaging role to your self esteem. This in turn can cause you to be low on self confidence and could result in a non-existing social life which in turn can result in other serious stress related disease.

A teenager is supposed to enjoy a life full of activity and fun. If due to acne the teenager is deprived of these things, it can result in a number of things which include worse people skills, lack of confidence and so on. This eventually leads to a life in anonymity that has no ambition at all. Teenage acne is developed through the production of androgens, which are hormones that are produced during the onset of puberty.

Teenage Acne Treatment
There are a number of acne treatments available that claim to cure this skin condition, but many of these are simply empty promises that waste time and money, giving false hope to people desperate for something to work. The best way to go is to use home made remedies or herbal remedies as they don’t have any side effects.

What is acne? Acne is a term attributed to plugged pores, commonly known as blackheads and whiteheads, pimples, and even cysts or nodules, occur on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and upper arms. Follicles, often called pores, often get blocked with sebum (oil), which normally drains to the surface, and a bacteria propionibacterium acnes, begins to grow. Both whiteheads and blackheads start out as a “microcomedone” which then become skin blemishes called comedones. Acne can be upsetting, disfiguring, sometimes leading to permanent scarring.

There are different types of acne. A white head is a lesion where trapped sebum and bacteria stay below the skin surface. A blackhead, on the other hand, is a lesion where trapped sebum and bacteria partially open to the surface and turn black due to the skin pigment melanin.

A papule is a small solid lesion slightly elevated above the surface of the skin. A pustule, again, is a dome-shaped skin elevation containing pus: a mixture of white blood cells, dead skin cells, and bacteria. It often has a hair in the center. A macule is a temporary red spot left by a healed acne lesion. It is flat and pinkish, with well-defined borders that can persist for days to weeks. A number of macules can contribute to the “inflamed face” appearance of acne. A nodule is a solid dome-shaped or irregularly shaped lesion, characterized by pain, inflammation and extending into deeper layers of the skin. It may cause tissue destruction resulting in scarring.

A cyst is a sac-like lesion containing white blood cells, dead cells, and bacteria. It may be severely inflamed and painful, extending into deeper layers of the skin and can result in scarring.

Who gets acne? Acne affects teenagers mostly; however it can occur in adults of all age groups also. Acne starts between the ages of ten and thirteen and usually lasts for five to ten years. It normally goes away on its own in the early twenties but can stretch into the late twenties or thirties or even beyond. Some people get acne for the first time as adults.

The treatment of acne is not difficult at all. Following a clear regimen helps considerably. Gentle cleansing plus plenty of 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide gives a clear skin as Benzoyl peroxide kills the acne bacteria well. A little itchiness after an application is quite normal, and some people also experience redness of the skin for the initial couple of weeks. However, this will definitely get better because it will cure the acne and prevent any new outbreaks.
